FM 470, Bandera Co., TX (TxDOT – San  Antonio District)

DSC_0342Poznecki-Camarillo., Inc. was the Prime Consultant for TxDOT in preparing plans, specifications and estimate documents for the widening and reconstruction of 3.6 miles of FM 470.  The project consisted of widening a narrow two lane rural section and adding shoulders.  Existing culverts were extended and MBGF added for safety.  The project included horizontal and vertical alignment design, traffic control plans, typical section design, signing and striping, culvert layouts, hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, storm water pollution prevention plans and cross sections.  Once the project was completed and advertised for construction, the client had a shortage of funding and required an addendum one week prior to bid opening.  PCI made recommendations and the necessary revisions to the plans to reduce the project by $1M and stay within the available funds to allow the project to be let for construction.    This project was originally estimated at $2.4 million and was let for construction for $1.4M meeting the clients schedule and budget.  This project is currently under construction.
